Sample Itinerary
Day 1: CASABLANCA ~ RABAT (60 Miles)
Arrival at Casablanca Mohamed V airport. Welcome by MOBT program leader and transfer for a sightseeing tour of Casablanca, the economic capital of Morocco. This tour will include an exterior and interior visit of the Hassan II Great Mosque. Proceed with a visit of the Place Mohammed V, the United Nations Square, and the surroundings of the Royal Palace before strolling along the Ain Diab corniche. Independent lunch in a restaurant of your choice (suggestions will be provided) and departure to Rabat. Upon arrival in Rabat, we will visit the administrative capital of Morocco. Our sightseeing will feature the splendid Mohamed V Mausoleum, the Hassan Tower and Place des Oudaya. Late in the afternoon, check-in, dinner and overnight stay at the Riad.
Day 2: RABAT ~ ASILAH ~ TANGIER (137 Miles)
After breakfast, we will start our journey along the Atlantic coast towards our final destination of Tangier. On our way we will have a tour of the city of Larache and a special tour to the ancient stone Circle of Mzoura which is unknown for most of the visitors,even Moroccan do not know about. It is the only ancient Stone Circle that still remains in North Africa.
We will continue our roads passing by the charming town of Assilah, home of the Pheonieciens, The Romans, the Portuguese and the Spanish. The town celebrates its annual international art festival in mid-June. From there and after lunch we will depart to Tangier. Visit of the Hercules cave and the Sapartel Cap where the Atlantic meets with the Mediterranean and then to the Medina of Tangier. Overnight in a hotel in Tangier.
Day 3 : TANGIER ~ TETOUAN ~ CHEFCHAOUEN
After a delicious breakfast in your Riad we will drive through the Rif mountains towards Chefchaouen or the white-blue washed town as we call it. On the way we will stop at Tetouan for a short visit to the archeological museum there then wind our way through the mountains to Chefchaouen. Overnight in the Riad in the heart of the hill town.
Day 4: CHEFCHAOUEN ~ MEKNES ~ FEZ
After breakfast, we will have a visit to the Medina of Chefchaouen and you will depart for the Imperial City of Meknes, also known as"the Moroccan Versailles". Meknes, with its monumental gates and city walls, was founded at the end of the 17th century by the Sultan Moulay Ismail. The highlights will include Bab el Mansour (perhaps the finest gateway in Africa), "Dar Jamai" Museum, the old Medina, Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, old granaries and stables. Lunch will be at Palais M'nebhi in Meknes. After lunch, you will depart for the ancient Roman city of Volubilis. Sightseeing of the Ruins of Volubilis. Departure and drive to Fes for your overnight at the Riad/Hotel.
Day 5: FEZ
After breakfast, the entire day will be devoted to sightseeing the city of Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco. Step back six centuries into the medieval Medina with its narrow and cobbled streets filled with ancient mosques, towering green glazed minarets and crumbling fondouks. Narrow openings into private worlds reveal architecture of peaceful courtyards filled with carved cedar, brilliantly colored mosaic tiles and delicately carved stucco ornaments. Suggested lunch will be at Cafe Clock, a beautiful and charming cultural cafe restaurant. After lunch, we will visit the Attarine and Abou Anania Medersas, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, and the Karaouine Mosque. In the afternoon, we will visit the countless souks, the famous tanneries and Fez Jdid. Overnight at the Riad. More activities can suggested by your Program Leader.
Day 6 : FEZ / CASABLANCA
After breakfast, your morning will be free for leisure, personal exploration or relaxation at the Riad. Independent lunch.In the afternoon, we will depart to Casablanca. Arrival at the hotel, check-in. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: CASABLANCA / AIRPORT TRANSFER
After breakfast, transfer to Mohamed V International airport for return flight and assistance with the boarding formalities. End of our services.
